I completed my PhD in the School of Jewish Studies at Tel Aviv University at 2021. I was also a researcher at the Unit for Location and Restitution of Unclaimed Property, at the Administrator General and Official Receiver at the Israeli Ministry of Justice. I was a postdoctoral fellow at the Haifa Interdisciplinary Unit for Polish Studies (HIUPS).
My current project at JRI focuses on practices which Jewish women from Eastern Europe chose to apply in order to remain alone, between the second half of the 19th century until First World War. My study redefines Jewish women’s agency in Eastern Europe, emphasizing their contributions to legal and feminist discourses, offers a fresh perspective on the transition from tradition to modernity. My research seeks to enrich the fields of Jewish studies, gender studies, and legal history, while also informing contemporary debates on women’s autonomy and collective rights.
