Warm congratulations to Asaf Doron for receiving the History Department's excellence scholarship for 2021-22. As a research assistant at the Institute, Asaf participates in a project regarding compensation given by Germany to victims of the Nazi regime. The research focuses on Germany’s interpretation of the requirement that compensation be given only to those who are part of the “German culture and language circle” (Deutscher Sprach- und Kulturkreis), according to paragraph 150 of the Bundesentschädigungsgesetz (BEG) law.
